The Rosary was instituted by St. Dominic around the beginning of the 13th century after an apparent instruction from Mary the Mother of God. This form of prayer was revealed as a weapon against heresy and sin.
Love the Madonna and pray the Rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.
St. Padre Pio
Most Catholics own a rosary but how often do we say the actual prayer? It does seem to be time consuming but it actually only takes 15-20 minutes to go through a whole set of mysteries, which actually feels even quicker when you immerse yourself in the meditation of each mystery. After making it a routine, the Holy Rosary is much more than just counting prayers, it becomes invaluable and can turn into something we look forward to saying.
The Rosary is the best therapy for these distraught, unhappy, fearful, and frustrated souls precisely because it involves the simultaneous use of three powers: the physical, the vocal, and the spiritual, and in that order.
Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen
