Week 4 – Love:
Father, all-powerful God, your eternal Word took flesh on our earth when the Virgin Mary placed her life at the service of your plan. Lift our minds in watchful hope to hear the voice which announces his glory and open our minds to receive the Spirit who prepares us for his coming. We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.

Joseph, now completely subdued, agreed to everything. He remarked: “Oh, who would ever have thought that among the many people who have been able to find accommodations here, we alone would not be accepted, nor even be found worthy of pity! Oh, my dear spouse, how painful it is for me to see you in such dire need without being able to give you some relief from the intense cold. If our God Himself is willing to submit to this, then we, too, must be willing to accept it.”

The most holy Mother comforted him and urged him to cheerfully accept everything out of love for the Savior, whom she was bearing within her. To this Joseph replied: “What a sorrowful sight, indeed, this must be for the Divine Infant, to see such a display of ingratitude in this village, with none of its people willing to receive Him into their homes!”
