God of power and mercy, open our hearts in welcome. Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy so that we may share his wisdom and become one with him when he comes in glory, for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. AMEN.

After Joseph had fallen asleep, the angel appeared to him and said: “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take unto yourself Mary as spouse, for the Son whom she is bearing within her womb has been conceived through the action of the Holy Spirit. She will bring forth this Son, whom you shall give the name of ‘Jesus.’ He shall be the Savior of His people and of the whole world. He is coming to deliver the world from the slavery of sin and to redeem it.
